The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Meetings are held three times per year around the world to promote in-person attendance by participants and have the primary goals of helping IETF Working Groups get their tasks done and promoting a fair amount of mixing among these groups. The IETF is the principal body engaged in the development of new Internet standard specifications.

On Monday 13th February 2023 at 2:00 pm CET (1:00 pm UTC), the second release of TeraFlow was officially presented on an ETSI webinar through its Brighttalk Channel. This webinar offered an overview of the recently announced ETSI TeraFlowSDN release 2.0, and a demonstration of some of its latest features.

In this second TeraFlowSDN release, a big focus is put on scalability and resilience of the controller, with a complete re-design of the Context Component to include a scalable database (i.e., CrocoachDB) to support the most stringent non-functional requirements.

Within the TeraFlow project, we are extensive users and developers of open source software. Beyond the mainstream operating system, databases and code automation tools, TeraFlow uses several state-of-the-art open source projects for the TeraFlow SDN controller itself. 

The 27th International Conference on Optical Network Design and Modelling (ONDM 2023) took place in Coimbra, Portugal, during 08-11 May 2023. 

OFC is the largest global conference and exhibition for optical communications and networking professionals. The program goes from research to marketplace, from components to systems and networks and from technical sessions to the exhibition. OFC draws attendees from all corners of the globe. OFC 2023 took place in San Diego, California (USA) on 05 – 09 March 2023 and TeraFlow had a lot of activity on this event!

On 6th December 2022, the ETSI TeraFlowSDN group (ETSI TFS) won the Layer123 Network Transformation ‘Upstart of the Year’ Award. The awards ceremony was held at the prestigious Berkley Hotel in Knightsbridge, London.

TeraFlowSDN participated on IEEE ICC, one of two IEEE Communications Society’s flagship conferences (ICC and Globecom). Each year, close to 2,000 attendees from over 70 countries attend this event which consists of keynote, technical paper and industry sessions plus innovative tutorials and workshops. IEEE ICC is known for bringing together audiences from both industry and academia to learn about the latest research and innovations in communications and networking technology, share ideas and best practices, and collaborate on future projects.
