Book - Towards Sustainable and Trustworthy 6G: Challenges, Enablers, and Architectural Design

The main goal of this book is to introduce the upcoming 6G technologies and outline the foreseen challenges, enablers, and architectural design trends that will be instrumental in realizing a Sustainable and Trustworthy 6G system in the coming years. This book includes a complete section (section 7.3 about TeraFlowSDN).

A Machine-Learning-Based Cyberattack Detector for a Cloud-Based SDN Controller

The rapid evolution of network infrastructure through the softwarization of network elements has led to an exponential increase in the attack surface, thereby increasing the complexity of threat protection. In light of this pressing concern, European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) TeraFlowSDN (TFS), an open-source microservice-based cloud-native Software-Defined Networking (SDN) controller, integrates robust Machine-Learning components to safeguard its network and infrastructure against potential malicious actors.

Scalability analysis of machine learning QoT estimators for a cloud-native SDN controller on a WDM over SDM network

Maintaining a good quality of transmission (QoT) in optical transport networks is key to maintaining the service level agreement between the user and the service provider. QoT prediction techniques have been used to assure the quality of new lightpaths as well as that of the previously provisioned ones. Traditionally, two different approaches have been used: analytical methods, which take into account most physical impairments that are accurate but complex, and high margin formulas, which require much less computational resources at the cost of high margins.

TeraFlow in TechCo Talks

On May 2023, TeraFlow was invited to the TechCo Talks Spanish podcast, powered by Iquall Networks. They interviewed Silvia Almagia, CTI Technical expert at ETSI, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute

The audience, estimated around 1900 people interested in new technologies learnt about the latest advancements, challenges, and opportunities in the industry.

The podcast is available on several platforms

TeraFlow in AI-NET annual event 2023

Carlos Natalino from Chalmers University presented TeraFlowSDN during the annual event of the AI-NET project in Massy, France. AI-NET is the CELTIC-NEXT EUREKA CLUSTER flagship project, and one of its subprojects, AI-NET-PROTECT, has plans to use TeraFlow for their demonstrator. This event was attended for more that 50 people that are and public authorities or relevant actors in research and industry.
