This demo presents the TeraFlowSDN controller as a solution to provide dedicated transport network slices with SLAs. To this end, the demo details how the interface between an NFV orchestrator and the SDN controller can provide transport network slices using protected disjoint paths.

The main goal of this book is to introduce the upcoming 6G technologies and outline the foreseen challenges, enablers, and architectural design trends that will be instrumental in realizing a Sustainable and Trustworthy 6G system in the coming years. This book includes a complete section (section 7.3 about TeraFlowSDN).

The rapid evolution of network infrastructure through the softwarization of network elements has led to an exponential increase in the attack surface, thereby increasing the complexity of threat protection. In light of this pressing concern, European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) TeraFlowSDN (TFS), an open-source microservice-based cloud-native Software-Defined Networking (SDN) controller, integrates robust Machine-Learning components to safeguard its network and infrastructure against potential malicious actors.

Maintaining a good quality of transmission (QoT) in optical transport networks is key to maintaining the service level agreement between the user and the service provider. QoT prediction techniques have been used to assure the quality of new lightpaths as well as that of the previously provisioned ones. Traditionally, two different approaches have been used: analytical methods, which take into account most physical impairments that are accurate but complex, and high margin formulas, which require much less computational resources at the cost of high margins.

We present P5; an event-driven policy framework that allows network operators to realize end-to-end policies on top of P4-based data planes in an intuitive and effective manner. We demonstrate how P5 adheres to a service-level agreement (SLA) by applying P4-based traffic engineering with latency constraints.

We present a WDM over SDM control system that detects overloaded/underloaded WDM links between ROADMs and provisions/removes virtual WDM links in response to dynamic traffic changes in SDN-enabled WDM VNTs over SDM Networks. We have experimentally validated the architecture in a WDM over SDM testbed.
