Field Trial of Programmable L3 VPN Service Deployment Using SDN-Based Multi-domain Service Provisioning over IP/Optical Networks

Network operators cannot change their footprint to upgrade the entire network to support SDN from scratch. Hence, network operators adapted the original SDN concept into a hybrid SDN approach to have a pragmatic, evolutionary, and economically viable solution. This article tests an SDN architecture based on a hierarchical structure of a Software-Defined Transport Networking (SDTN) controller, which deals with the end-to-end service provision and topology collection on top of a set of SDN controllers for each technological domain.

ECOC21

ECOC is the largest conference on optical communications in Europe, and one of the most prestigious and long-standing events in this field worldwide.

OMNeT++ Community Summit 2021

OMNeT++ is a public-source, component-based, modular and open-architecture simulation environment with strong GUI support and an embeddable simulation kernel. It is designed to simulate discrete event systems, with the simulation of communication networks as one of its primary application areas.

Public Side Meetings at IETF-111

TeraFlow participated at the "Evolving and Revitalizing the Internet" side-meeting co-located within the IETF-111.

The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is a large open international community of network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers concerned with the evolution of Internet architecture and the smooth operation of the Internet.

Advances in SDN control for Beyond 100G disaggregated optical networks

This tutorial considers the evolution of SDN control for optical transport networks in disaggregated scenarios, focusing on its requirements and challenges when applied to "beyond 100G" networks - term that jointly refers to the use of coherent technology, data rates beyond 100G and the evolution of OTN standards to support rates such as 200G, 400G, or 800G.The tutorial cover suse-case driven SDN development, new challenges and requirements such as the need to account for physical impairments, multiband / SDM control, improved fault/alarm management, network sharing or optical telemetry and
